01
Standing
A gateway submission is private, unreviewed, and unpublished. Receipt, structural validation, file-integrity verification, human confirmation, or an editorial workflow state does not establish correctness, endorsement, peer review, legal currentness, or inclusion in the public archive.
03
Human responsibility and AI contributions
AI-assisted and AI-originated intellectual work is welcome when it adds specific value. Material AI involvement must be described with its systems, role, targets, human actions, validation, evidence access, selection context, and known limitations.
A named person remains responsible for the submission and its rights, sources, disclosures, and claims. A machine credential is not accepted for the confirmation, an editorial decision, or a publication decision. Confirmation is a self-assertion by the named contact: the pilot does not independently verify identity and cannot technically exclude undisclosed automation using the human-web path.
Machine-created drafts do not return a human management capability to the machine. During the invitation pilot, an authorized operator must separately deliver the private confirmation link to the named contact.
04
Privacy and access
Contact information, private workflow history, credentials, and quarantined files are not public archive data. They are available only to the submission owner and authorized project operators. Email addresses are not placed in the public scholarly record by default.
A management link is a bearer capability. Anyone who receives it may access and act on that private submission, so it must be kept secret. On first use, the production site exchanges the URL fragment for an eight-hour, HttpOnly, same-site browser session and removes the fragment from the address bar; the original link remains sensitive and should be retained securely. Do not submit privileged material, confidential client information, security secrets, or personal data that is unnecessary for scholarly review.
Submitted text and files are treated as untrusted content, never as instructions to an automated reviewer or agent. A future accepted release may expose only the metadata and artifacts deliberately selected for that release.
05
Retention and withdrawal
Each private submission records a retention-review date 90 days after its latest draft or revision. During this pilot, that date is an operator review date, not a guarantee of automatic deletion. Private records may be retained longer for integrity, abuse prevention, disputes, or legal obligations. Do not submit if that limitation is unacceptable.
Withdrawal stops the active review path but does not erase append-only security and decision records immediately. If a contribution is later published, withdrawal from the gateway cannot delete the immutable public archive record; corrections and withdrawals of public standing are represented through later events and versions.
06
Pilot operation
The gateway may reject, pause, quarantine, request changes to, or decline a submission. Availability, review, acceptance, publication, preservation, and response time are not guaranteed. Abuse, unsafe files, false authority claims, or attempts to bypass the private/public boundary may result in suspension.
The exact terms version is stored with every submission. A new revision must accept the then-current version; later terms do not silently rewrite the recorded terms of an earlier revision.
